REPLACEMENT MISSING TEETH

Replace missing teeth and regain maximum comfort. If you’ve lost a tooth while playing field hockey or riding your bike, there are several ways to restore your exquisite smile. Missing teeth can be replaced with implant-supported crowns, dental bridges, implant-supported bridges or removable dentures.

Implant-supported crowns

Dental implants are used to replace lost teeth. They are the next best thing to natural teeth, offering a similar feel and appearance. Implants are artificial roots made of biocompatible material that are screwed into the jawbone.

Three-step process:

  • The implant is placed.
  • The bone heals and fuses with the implant, making it very strong. This process takes an average of three months. A temporary prosthesis can be fitted while awaiting the final restoration.
  • The missing tooth is replaced with a crown or bridge that matches the color and shape of your natural teeth.

Dental bridge

Dental bridges replace missing teeth by resting on the remaining neighboring teeth. These act as bridge pillars. They will be thinned and covered by crowns. The part that replaces the missing tooth or teeth is attached to the abutment crowns and is called pontic.

The two-step dental bridge process:

  • An impression of the neighboring teeth is taken so that a temporary bridge can be installed while you wait for the permanent bridge to be made.
  • The implant-supported anterior bridge is precisely fabricated. Once ready, the permanent bridge is installed and cemented in place.

Implant-supported bridges

Implant-supported bridges replace missing teeth without the need to modify neighbouring teeth.
neighboring teeth. These bridges are supported by dental implants. There are several advantages to this
including the fact that the remaining healthy teeth are not altered.

Three step process for implant-supported bridges:

  • Installation of implants, followed by several months of healing
  • Installation of a temporary bridge in anterior cases (in front of the mouth)
  • Installation of final bridge

Dental prostheses and Implants (fixed and removable)

Fixed implant-supported dentures are permanent oral appliances that attach to screwed dental implants. These appliances cannot be removed at home. They are comparable to natural teeth in that you must brush and floss as usual to keep your mouth and gums healthy.

Removable implant-supported dentures are beneficial for patients who have difficulty eating and speaking with traditional models. In addition, they can help support the gums and jaw, preventing gum and bone loss.
